Some treasures take time. Not just to make – but to become.

Do you remember, from old photos or family stories, how overprotective your mum used to be?

The way she watched over you, wanting the best — and sometimes, holding on too tightly?

Can you still feel that strange in-between moment… when you didn’t dare admit you’d made your own decision,

afraid to disappoint her… and yet, deep down, you so badly wanted to show her what you had achieved?

Well… it’s strangely similar to how our artists treat each piece of amber.

A story inside every stone — just waiting to be revealed

They study the raw, unpolished stone like a mother watches her child — full of wonder, full of questions:

“What can I do with this? What if I polish too much? Or too little? What if there’s treasure hidden inside?”

First, they smooth one side.

Then another.

And suddenly — light enters. A warm golden glow appears. Inclusions sparkle like fireworks trapped in time.

But still, they hesitate.

How far should they go?

How much should they reveal?

Could they make two jewels from this one piece — or is it better, more precious, to keep it whole?

These are the questions our artists ask themselves before they even begin to sketch the shape of the final design.

And perhaps, that’s the same question all mothers ask too.

How long should I hold on? How much do I guide? And when do I begin to let go, so that what I treasure most… becomes even more beautiful on its own?

And just like that… the first glimpse of a pendant is born.

But that’s only the beginning…..

In my next post, I’ll share what happens when the first shape appears — and how emotion, instinct, and courage guide the final touches of every SAPFIRE creation.

Because just like a MOTHER’S LOVEtrue beauty never happens by accident…..
